MCA PROGRAMME
Master of Computer Applications programme is a two-year courses and is spread over a period of four semesters and which enables the candidates to get familiar with the usage of computer using at-least five latest programming languages and a large number of applications. The course also develops the student’s capabilities in preparation of system software.
The students undergo mid-term projects in industrial organizations. The placement cell helps the students in
finding suitable placements. The course content is updated every year and includes State-of-art evolving subject areas such as web services.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
- Passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree.
- OR
- Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with mathematics at 10+2 Level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University).
- Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination.
Selection will be solely on the basis of merit and in accordance with the rules of communal reservation of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The candidates will be selected for admission to the course only based on the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) and Consortium of Self-Financing Professional Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu(CET). The candidates selected for admission will be intimated individually and the list of such candidates will be put up in KGiSL-IIM Notice Board, and in KGiSL-IIM dynamic web site www.kgisliim.ac.in. No enquiries with regard to their selection will be entertained.
All candidates selected for admission to MCA Programme shall be asked to get admitted and surrender their original Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, Mark Sheets (SSLC, HSC and Degree), Provisional / Degree Certificate and remit the prescribed fees on the dates indicated in the admission letter. Request for extension of time will not be granted, whatever the reason may be. The certificates once surrendered will not be returned till the student completes or leaves the course. Hence they are advised to retain with them adequate number of attested photocopies of the certificates for future use.
Candidates desirous of obtaining admission to MCA course offered at KGiSL-IIM should apply for it in the prescribed application form available from the Director, KGiSL Institute of Information Management, KG Campus, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore – 641 035 payment of Rs. 300/- to be remitted by a demand draft of a Nationalised bank, drawn in favour of KGiSL-IIM, payable at Coimbatore.
The Application form, along with the prospectus, shall be completed in all respects and submitted to the Director, KGiSL Institute of Information Management on or before the last date furnished in the application form.
Candidates seeking Admission to MCA are required to appear for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test(TANCET) conducted by Anna University, Chennai or Consortium of Self-Financing Professional Arts and Science Colleges in Tamil Nadu (CET) conducted by Bharathiar university.
The envelope containing the completed application along with enclosures should be superscripted as ”APPLICATION FOR MCA PROGRAMME”. Attested photocopies of the following certificates should accompany the application:

- Certificates of extra-curricular activities, if any.
- Mark certificate of Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET)

- Community Certificate
- Allotment Certificate
- Migration certificate
Management Seats
- SSLC and HSC certificates
- Mark / Grade Certificates
- Provisional / Degree Certificate (If already qualified for Degree)
- Certificates of extra-curricular activities, if any.
- Mark certificate of Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET)
- Transfer Certificate
- Community Certificate
- Migration certificate
Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be entertained.
